A workshop which showcases the excellents research produced by mathematicians who happen to be women.
This day will be an opportunity to highlight the outstanding contributions of women in our discipline, to exchange ideas, and to inspire one another.
“ Matrices de Cambio” es el nombre que enmarca la conmemoración del Día Internacional de la Mujer en la Matemática en el Campus San Joaquín de la Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, organizada por el Departamento de Matemáticas y el equipo de Admisión. Esta jornada propone una mirada transformadora sobre la disciplina matemática, destacando el rol de las mujeres en su construcción, enseñanza y aplicación en el mundo actual.

dott. Alessandra Tongiorgi, psycologist, will coordinate a debate in which Chiara Bodei, Computer Scientist (Università di Pisa), Chiara de Fabritiis, mathematician (Università Politecnica delle Marche) and Pietro Di Martino, mathematician (Università di Pisa) will offer the audience hints and ideas on gender gap issues in STEM disciplines, starting from different instances.
Conversatorio: "El desafío de una ciencia más equitativa"
On the occasion of the International Women in Mathematics Day, the Department of Mathematics G. Peano at the University of Turin and the Department of Mathematical Sciences G. Lagrangeopen_in_new at the Polytechnic University of Turin are organizing an event to raise awareness about the gender gap in STEM disciplines.
On this day, conferences are organized, where nationally renowned women mathematicians share their experiences, research and innovative projects, promoting academic exchange and collaboration.
A conference dedicated to Ada Lovelace, considered the first programmer in the history. This conference is included in the series "Tutti amano la Matematica", organized by Seminario Matematico di Brescia, an interuniversity research center between Università degli Studi di Brescia and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Brescia. The evening is moderated by Prof. Anita Pasotti, director of the center, and the speaker will be Eng. Leonardo Rizza.
EDAÍ is a Dynamical Systems seminar jointly organized by PUC-Rio, UFF and UFRJ since 2008. EDAÍ is generally held on Fridays, with one Matinee and two Lectures. The Matinees present classical Dynamical Systems results that have not yet found their place in the introductory course syllabus, while the Lectures generally address recent research topics.
In this occasion we celebrate May12 day.
The website https://may12.womeninmaths.org/ records events celebrating women in Mathematics from May 1st to June 15th. Why May 12th is the reference day? It is the birthday of Maryam Mirzakhani (1977-2017), the first woman to win the Fields Medal (in 2014). In this context, the tribute of the Mathematical Seminary of Brescia to one of the greatest women in math of the history, Maria Gaetana Agnesi (1718-1799), is a must. In her journey through languages, literature, philosophy, theology, science, and charity, the meeting with a mathematician from Brescia stands out.
