The Simon Fraser University's Association for Women in Math (AWM) Student Chapter and the Department of Mathematics EDI Advisory Group are jointly organizing a celebration for International Women in Math Day on Friday, May 12 on Burnaby campus.
For the second year in a row, Isfahan Mathematics House and Maryam Mirzakhani Foundation will hold a memorial program for Maryam Mirzakhani. In this program, there will be two lectures and one interview. One of the lectures will be given by Dr. Iman Eftekhari about the billiard table case and the other lecture will be given by Dr. Neda Esmaili. In the interview section, Dr. Yahya Tabesh, one of Maryam Mirzakhani's former professors, will talk about her and Iran's scientific community.
We will comemorate the May 12 th at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of Federal Fluminense University. Women from different subareas of Mathematics will participate in the event presenting lectures about their choice in doing Mathematics and about their reserch.

WoMaths – Congreso de Mujeres Matemáticas, nace con el deseo de contribuir a visibilizar el trabajo que realizan las mujeres en matemáticas y que sus experiencias sirvan de motivación e inspiración para que otras estudiantes inicien o se especialicen en una carrera como investigadora en alguna de las áreas de la matemática.
