6th Meeting on Women in Mathematics at IMPA

It is rganized by students from the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics to commemorate Women in Mathematics Day and promote a dialog about the reality of academic careers for women. Evento UMI-Festa delle Donne Matematiche 2026

Sara Garbarino and Silvia Villa will deliver two dissemination talks ("Come la matematica aiuta a capire l’invisibile: modelli matematici per il corpo umano" and "La matematica dell'intelligenza artificiale"). MS students in Mathematics will present mathematical puzzles and games. "Matematiche: femminile plurale" will display voices of young female mathematicians. The event will end with a final "Guess Who" game, dedicated to famous female scientists.
